How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human。

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus。 Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy。 Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour。

But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed。 Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go 。 。 。 an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood。

If you love Percy Jackson this is more of the same but with the humor from the God Apollo being the narrator。

It was a fun read! However, I got a bit annoyed by Riordan's random pop culture references throughout the book, and I also didn't really care for the characters that much (yet), but I'm hoping that will change when I continue on with the series。 This book felt more like a buildup for the rest of the series, and I didn't really feel like there was much of a climax。 But it was a nice introduction back into the demigod world, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here。 It was a fun read! I thought I would end up loving everything uncle Rick wrote but, apparently, I was wrong。 Sort of a Rant to come!

Catarina

Really good。 I was laughing every 5 seconds!

I read the Percy Jackson series but I never really liked it (in fact, I only finished like three chapters?) but this is the best Rick Riordan book I’ve ever read。 I think I’ll probably read the sequels and Nico and Wills relationship is adorable。

honestly better than I thought a pj spin off would be。 I liked how Apollo was written and the way the novel differentiates Apollo and Lester。 SO far so good but I am apprehensive for the other books

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was a reread for me。 I loved this book upon this read。 I’m still fangirling over Nico and Will are boyfriends。 They are super cute。 On another note Apollo/Lester was so funny。 Loved how self centered he was in this book。 And the ending when Meg betrayed Apollo by being Nero’s step-daughter still makes me angry。

Chloe Flaherty

Couldnt get into it, apollo is an ass。

"The Hidden Oracle" is a fun and new addition the The Camp Half-Blood series。 It's not the best book, the plot is a little boring because the characters don't go on any quests, but I'm hopeful that the next books will be more interesting and exciting! As the first book of Rick Riordan’s amazing series, I loved this book! I liked Apollo’s arrogant personality throughout the book, and him complaining how he should be in Olympus instead of in the mortal world。 I also adored Meg’s character as a whole, and when with paired with Apollo, they two are a hilarious and goofy duo。 The story is incredibly addictive, and I would recommend this book to everyone who loves fiction and fantasy books, and to everyone who likes a little bit of humour when read As the first book of Rick Riordan’s amazing series, I loved this book! Apollo is such a funky guy。 I loved him as the protagonist。 This book was so fun!!!!!! I loved the shenanigans and seeing Will and Nico through the eyes of Apollo lol。The only criticism I have is that a lot of the book feels like filler。。。 enjoyable filler but filler nonetheless。A good start to the series imo!

I was so scared this wouldn’t be good。 That I would end up hating everything because Uncle Rick went one series to many。 But dang this was a good start。
